Transforming raw clay into a masterpiece takes about three to five weeks, influenced by the seasons. We source clay from a clay-rich village, allowing it to dry naturally at our pottery center.
Once dry, the clay is pounded, sieved into a fine powder, washed, and drained. After another sieving, it rests on a plastic surface to let excess water escape before being kneaded and prepared.
Our artisans shape each piece on the kick wheel, and then let it dry for up to three weeks, depending on weather conditions. High humidity during the rainy season can extend drying times.
After drying, the piece undergoes bisque firing in a wood-fired kiln, which imparts unique character during a 12-hour firing cycle. A delicate glazing process follows, with high firing taking up to a week.
This journey culminates in a beautifully crafted product, showcasing our dedication to craftsmanship from raw clay to final masterpiece.
